12 Simple Tips To Have Rocking Photos On Your Wedding Day

    May 20 2019

A wedding is amongst the most important and greatest events of a person’s life. Considering there are so many memories to capture, many couples turn to professional photographers to commemorate these special moments. That said, encapsulating every lasting image can be time-consuming and often requires planning in advance.

We invite couples soon to marry or any other interested parties to read the following blog offering tips on how to properly maximize wedding photography and ensure the images captured are the best they can be.

    1. Designate A Preparation Room

For couples holding the affair inside a hotel or banquet hall, one room should be designated for preparation. The wedding parties are encouraged to carefully lay out all items they wish to be photographed such as:

    • Dresses
    • Jewelry
    • Tuxedo
    • Rings
    • Invitations
    • Shoes
    • Floral arrangements

Organizing a preparation room saves both the wedding party and photographer time and reduces the risk of disorganization. Either a member of the facility staff or a designee from the wedding party could be assigned to make sure the room is clean and that abundant space is cleared.

    2. Maximize Window Light

As the bride or groom dons formal attire, window light in the getting ready room typically provides the best lighting for optimal photos.

    3. Use Pretty Hangers

Personalized your hanger with your new last name, couple’s initials or opt for gold hangers that match your chic style. The right wedding dress hanger will standout in your bridal suite photos and double as a great keepsake.

    4. Proceed Down The Aisle Slowly

As the bride makes her way down the aisle, she is advised to proceed at a deliberate pace. Walking slowly will enable photographers to not only capture more images but improve the focus on such shots. Additionally, members of the bridal party are encouraged to step down the aisle at a deliberate rate.

    5. Make The First Kiss Last

Once the ceremony is completed, the bride and groom’s first kiss should last at least three seconds. This gives photographers enough time to narrow the camera’s focus and properly capture this special moment.

    6. Enable Ring Exchange Visibility

    Sabinas Grove Groveland Florida Wedding

As the bride and groom exchange rings, they are encouraged to not allow their hand or any other part of their body to obstruct view of their partner’s hand. Doing so will make it difficult if not impossible for a photographer to capture this event.

    7. Instruct Guests To Be Courteous

It is understandable that a wedding precipitates enthusiasm and guests might wish to join in on the photos. However, guests continually jumping in the fray can disturb a photo’s ambience. Instead opt for an unplugged ceremony without the distraction of their phone and/or camera, your guests will be free to immerse themselves in the experience and remember your ceremony better.

    8. Plan Ahead

Family portraits often include many people and locating the appropriate place to capture these images could require time and planning. The bride and groom might opt to work in tandem with their photographer to designate the best time and place for said event to occur.

    9. Arranging The Photographs

Wedding parties are advised to bestow the responsibility of informing those be included in the family portraits the times and locations the portraits are to be taken.

    10. Keep Pockets Clear

The groom, groomsmen or any other family members donning clothing with pockets are encouraged to keep their pockets clear during family photo sessions. Items to be removed include:

    • Vehicle or house keys
    • Mobile phones
    • Papers
    • Any other items that could protrude out and be seen

Prior to the photo session, these items could be placed in a designated box or other place for safekeeping.

    11. Simplify Formal Dances

When the bride and groom or other close family members are sharing formal dances, disc jockeys are encouraged to avoid using laser lightshows or any other technical augmentation that could obstruct or minimize these special images.

    12. Keep The Photographer Informed

The bride or groom is advised to notify the disc jockey or masters of ceremony to let the photographer know several minutes in advance of any special or noteworthy event. Doing so gives the photographer time to set up.
