Engagement Session Coming Up, No Idea What To Wear?

Your engagement is an exciting time, and when it comes to the photoshoot for this celebrated moment, we want to ensure that you and your partner are captured in the best possible light from every angle.

Here at Angie & Marko, we believe in creating the perfect engagement session for each couple in love.

Choosing what to wear is key but can get overwhelming, so allow us to pass along some never-fail engagement outfit tips:

Pick Clothes That Reflect Your Personality

We strongly recommend that you and your partner always feel comfortable in their clothing at a photoshoot. Every individual has personal style, and this gives each of us confidence before the lens.

If you do not feel like yourself wearing a chiffon blouse with a ruffled collar, for example, then do not choose it. Put on something that reflects your style and sets the right mood for the photoshoot.

Don’t Go Matchy-Matchy

A coordinated image is a better look than a matchy-matchy pair of ensembles with twin patterns. Instead, we advise that you and your partner select colors that complement each other, and if you want to wear a patterned fabric, make sure that it isn’t too busy and have it feature a solid print, instead.

If going for a timeless image, then stay with classic, tailored styling, and just say no to the trend-of-the-moment.

Accessorizing Lightly

Adding a little texture or bling is nice for photos, so wear that favorite pair of chandelier earrings or that silk scarf, bracelet, brooch or statement necklace for your different photo looks during your engagement session.

Men can also play around with accessories. A watch, belt, ring, hat or glasses can be worn to add interest to the composition.

Flattering Your Body

Don’t be afraid to show off your best assets. Ladies, if you have killer legs, then a shorter hemline and nude pumps can create an attractive silhouette.

A full skirt or a fit-and-flare dress is another great idea for clothing that offers movement and a feminine silhouette.

If you have an hourglass figure, try a belt that cinches your waist for enhancement.

Both partners should play up what they like about their bodies.

Creating Visual Interest

You don’t want to get lost in an oversized print, for instance, but you can create photos that draw the eye in with a bold color that delivers an attitude of instant celebration and joy.

Fabric can also play a role. Linen gives that carefree laid-back vibe, and lace can exude romance and elegance.

Embracing The Season

The month of the year in which you schedule your engagement photoshoot will also signify the season you’re in and open you up to gorgeous color palettes that add richness and vitality to your photos.

We’ve put together some looks to get your imagination going.
